If you really want to go, prepare to wait, bring your own hot sauce, tortilla chips and salsa, order bottled beer, be prepared to get dessert before your entrees.
Not a good authentic place for Mexican food. The atmosphere has the feel of class and elegance yet the food leaves much to be desired. The queso dip was grainy and odd in texture. The food had a mild taste unlike other Mexican foods which are flavorful. I was impressed by the looks but disappointed with the food.
I have always enjoyed lunch and dinner at the Cactus Flower. However, I am very disappointed in my experience tonight.
Only response I got was “ I wish I had put your name on it.” I understand there is a lot of dishonest people in our society but I am not one of them I had my receipt for the gift but no card. I would have been nice to have at least been offered a refund since I had the receipt that was showed time of purchase.
When I went there was only a couple of tables with guests, which is to say they were not busy by any stretch of the imagination, yet it still took almost 5 min for us to be seated (for a party of 2) and more than 5 min for our server to even acknowledge our presence. The food comes out in no particular order and is very bland. Too bad the server never came by to ask if we needed anything like hot sauce as literally anything would have helped. The tortilla chips were stale and salsa runny. Our alcoholic beverages tasted like simple syrup and not much else, it's doubtful that there was any liquor in there at all. The only thing California about this place are the prices.
There are better Mexican places on the circle, even Daleville has better places with much lower prices.
The Cactus Flower is a special place that my friend Carol and I have lunch. Great atmosphere and the food is delicious! My favorite dishes include the Mango Shrimp Salad and the quesadillas!
Nice decor but bland and uninspiring food.
I purchased a gift card for a Christmas gift as the restaurant was starting to close a little past 8 which was earlier than posted hours. Between the register and my car I believe I dropped the card which was handwritten by the owner. Within 15 minutes I had realized I didn’t have the card and I called back to see if I had left it in the counter. Owner returned my call immediately and remembered me purchasing the card and even asked where I had parked which was near the front door.
This is a nice place to get some good food. I needed a nice & quiet place to relax and eat today & that's what I got. The wait staff was attentive & quick with our orders. We will be returning.
