I stayed here on multiple occasions for work. The first visit my room was nice and clean. But I went to a coworkers room and it smelled of mold/mildew. The next trip we got 3 rooms for 2 coworkers and I and all 3 of them smelled. The rooms themselves appeared to be cleaned well. The staff was nice and very friendly.
Good - Front desk associate was great and check-in went smoothly. Room is nice - standard for Courtyard. Bummer - no more USA Today papers, breakfast bistro opened 30 mins late and poor lady had to take orders and cook orders. She was great but hotel needs to spring for another associate. Workout room was kinda small, but 2 treadmills, dumbbells, a bike, and elliptical.
Went here for a soccer tournament. This was the preferred hotel that the team was staying in. Was expecting more! The tub had mildew in it and the decor was outdated. Everything else was fine. Friendly staff, pool, fitness center, and wifi that actually worked!
Running from Hurricane Irma with no place to go, until we found this amazing Courtyard by Marriott in the tiny town of Dothan, Al. During an incredibly stressful time this hotel became our home away from home. I can never say "thank you"and "job well done" enough! They were kind, considerate,compassionate, bent over backwards, extremely accommodating and always always with a smile. Every single employee was outstanding. The Manager and Assistant Manager went above and beyond and I will always be grateful....so glad we found this hotel in this tiny little town. I give it a "10" and a high five!
Edit - One other change this property could make is to lower the price for a glass of wine. $14 for 8 oz (I think it was 8) is outrageous. Most hotels that offer wine by the glass do a good job keeping it below $10. Will definitely bring my own bottle next time. It was very nice for the AGM to respond to my post. Overall the stay was fine, just a few things that would take this property from nice to very nice.
The hotel itself is terrific. My first time staying at a Courtyard, and I found it to be above expectations. From the pool and workout area, to the restaurant/bar area- heck, they even had a happy hour! Very pleased with our 3 night stay here and, thanks to their standard service and extra effort, will place Courtyard by Marriott at the top of my list when looking for accommodations in the future.
Made the trip to Dothan from Naples FL during Hurricane Irma. What an exceptional town and what a terrific experience here at the Courtyard. Top notch front desk staff, awesome support and phenomenal housekeeping. Really a great experience through and through. The team here went the extra mile to assure those of us seeking refuge were comfortable, and even provided some meals on the house to make sure we felt welcomed and taken care of. Top notch.
